Mason's 8 Month Photoshoot

The beautiful Francesca, Nick & Mason visited us recently for their 8 month shoot.

Anyone that knows these 3 know how fun & lovely they are and Francesca is the only one who sings with me to get Mason to smile. Everyone else looks at us like we're mad as we sing 'Row, Row, Row your Boat' and countless other songs. I think we enjoy it more then Mason! Ooops!

Francesca is making up a little Smewch gallery here - Soon we'll be able to offer viewings as there'll be that many! She sent me these pictures and I just had to include them. (If you've got photo's of your Smewch images up then take a piccie and share them, I'd love to see!)

I LOVED the Mummy & Boy photo's on this shoot and practically demanded that she MUST get one of her and Mason together as they got a Daddy & Boy one last time. Francesca looked as gorgeous as ever and Mason always makes me melt with his kissable chubby cheeks!

I think they're planning a Smash the Cake shoot for his final photoshoot which will be his 1st Birthday. Oh how quickly that has come around but what a way to end it on!!

Hello Penny!

Hello Penny!

Penny is the beautiful new daughter of Lyndsey & Anthony and baby Sister to Gracie.

Many of you have seen Gracie, she's currently on my facebook profile page sat in a pink princess throne on her final photoshoot when she turned 1.

When Lyndz booked in again when Penny was born I was super excited to see them as they've always been one of my favourite families to photograph as they were the first newborn package I completed and Gracie is just a little dream in front of the camera and in all honesty.... I'd missed that girly!

Penny is a little double of Gracie. She made us melt and was so good despite us disrupting her routine!

Lyndz and Nyy, thank you so much for coming back to Smewch. I honestly do adore your little family to pieces

Portrait Sitting - Stephen & Zoe

Zoe & Stephen joined me last week for a photoshoot. They're young, they're beautiful and they're incredibly sweet together! We had such a fun shoot with them and they both were very natural and comfortable in front of the camera which is unusual when you're their age!

I got them both on the spacehopper which Zoe totally outshone Stephen and I have to say was the best 'hopper' we've ever had. When it was Stephen's turn he was so tall he kind of struggled but he gave it a good go, haha!

Guys, I hope you both liked your portfolio and it really was a lovely pleasure to meet you both.

Rock it Rocky!! - Dog portrait sitting

Rocky apparently is always hyper, always up to mischief and always getting into trouble. The Rocky that I met was calm, chilled and oozing attitude! I think his parents lied!!!

I mean, what dog just sits there not moving whilst you dress him in various outfits.... even a tutu! (but let's not go there, pics are one the FB fanpage though if you want to see! haha)

He gives you high fives, if you say bang he drops and rolls (if bribed with treats) and omg I want him!!

He has a real 'smile' on his face when he looks at the camera and his 'mummy' Shai and 'daddy' Will made this shoot soooo fun. I was crying proper tears of laughter when we dressed him as a girl dog as he seemed to like it just a bit too much! Will wasn't impressed with Shai & me tho ;)

I hope you both liked the pics, tell Rocky he's welcome back anytime (and I may dognap him!!)

Nick, Francesca & Mason's 4 Month Old Session

This was Mason's 2nd session with me at 4 month's old. He's a right little cheeky boy already and only gives you smiles if you charm him!!

Nick & Francesca are so much fun to photograph as they're generally up for anything and go with the flow. Mason is one happy chappy even though he'd been poorly that week, we still managed to steal lots of smiles and loads of chatter out of him!! (the charmer!)

I can't wait for his 8 month shoot but before then I'm being mega spoilt as they're all coming back in November for a Christmas photoshoot, complete with an array of dressing up outfits Francesca has been buying.... I am so excited I may pop!!

The Kilty Family

Roberta & Ian brought along their two gorgeous boys for a photoshoot. This was a gift voucher they'd been given and after recently having their baby boy they booked in for some brotherly love shots!

Ok so we had to bribe Tommy most of the time with various props (the croc being a fave) but these two made me melt!

I've also included a picture below which I just LOVE, I hope the Kilty family do too.

Tommy worked it as a cowboy - though I kept getting shot, how cruel!! :) I think he could carry off wearing a cowboy hat as his daily attire, don't you?!

Happy 1st Birthday Oliver!

Ok so technically it was a few weeks ago but this little cutie is a baby I've photographed from birth (see below)
He weighed a tiny 5lb 9oz. I've photographed him every 4 months until his final shoot a couple weeks ago when he turned 1.

How'd that happen so fast?

I love, love, love this package so much. If you've recently had a baby or know someone who has it's such a lovely way to capture your baby's first year. At £40 per sitting (4 in total) you can choose to pay it in 4 instalments over the year (paying at the time of booking each slot) or in a lump sum of £160.

You end up with 4 photoshoots (birth, 4 months, 8 months & 1yr old), 4 free 10x8" prints and a free 12x12" 9 montage displaying your baby's first full year.

Smash the Cake - New Idea!

Smash the Cake!

Ok so what is 'Smash the Cake' you may be asking?

Well it's a bit like a baby version of 'Thrash the Dress' or 'Rock the Frock' that brides do to their wedding dresses. Get messy, get dirty and get some fabulous photo's which are much more memorable than a dress in a wardrobe.

Smash the Cake is pretty similar..... You include a giant cupcake (smaller than pictured) in any colour of your choice, sprinkled with all rainbow polka dots and edible glitter and a baby wearing just a nappy and a smile (hopefully).

These are gorgeous and such a fun way to capture your baby's 1st birthday. They get messy, they cram it in their mouthes and I snap away!

So how much is it??

My standard sitting is £30 and includes one free 10x8" print. Obviously I need to charge more for this to offset the cost of the cupcake and the disposal of my backdrop, which seriously gets wrecked!

Therefore the charge for these shoots is £60

This includes a 1hr photoshoot (normal photo's to begin with and then ending with the cake)

Clare Miller - Portrait Sitting

Clare booked in for a portrait sitting as she's lost sooooo much weight and is looking fab (you should be proud of yourself lady!)

She was really nervous but after 10 mins in front of the camera she got into her stride and we were soon cooking on gas!

I'm sure you'll agree she looks fab in front of the camera and girls it really is normal to be nervous though, just like Clare you'll be fine in no time as it really is good fun! :)

The Shaw Girls

Here's a sneak at one of my photoshoots from yesterday. Angie and Jessica came to me for a real girly shoot. I was in my element with these two! They'd even been the hairdressers before coming and had painted their nails and toenails. I am spoilt.

Jessica brought along her favourite teddies, a snow white costume, bubbles, a princess book and nail varnish - Talk about being well prepared!

Angie is celebrating a very special birthday in a couple of weeks and these were a memory that I hope captures her special year. Happy Birthday Angie xx

These new layouts are a new product I've added. They're a bit of a bright and cheery montage that look beautiful framed (sized 10x12") or in my new range of acrylic desk blocks - why not make a feature of them and block it!

Well, I'm off for a nice family pub lunch later and feeling slightly smug that I've updated the blog already ;) another update will be coming soon!

About time eh?

Oh my life it's been so flippin' long since I did a blog update. I was tempted to delete all old blogs and just start all over again but I thought it'd be a shame to lose them all. So I've re-vamped the blog, had a new overall look and I'm raring to go (again).

For those that don't know me, I've still been working my backside off but been just too busy to update though I'm on my fanpage on Facebook daily and if you're a fan (if you're not, why not?!) then you'll see I've been posting regular updates on there!!

My little dude starts school next Monday so I'm busy busy sorting all that out, how on Earth did he get to school age so quickly? I've always said pictures capture all the memories and I'm so glad to always have my camera on me!

October Update

Welcome to your monthly update.... I failed again, miserably!

So what have I been up to this month? Well, loads actually! October has been mad busy, it was a friends Son's 21st Birthday where Hubby's performed magic - see his stuff at http://www.bobcatmagic.com/ he kicks ass, and I'm not even biased! Then it was Hubby's birthday, then we decided to finally get a dog and went on a hunt for the 'right' dog for us. We've now fallen in love with Bernese Mountain Dogs and pick up our new addition to the family (Bo) early December!

Aswell as that I've had a really busy month with Smewch, had some gorgggeous photoshoots, met some amazing new customers who have ended up becoming my new friends and all in all I feel very lucky!

Here are the snippets of my faves this month....

First Jo and her lovely family! This shoot was booked by Jo's mum, Lorraine and they're both as lovely and fun as each other. We had loads of fun shooting this one and Joseph was a little charmer flirting with us the whole photoshoot - love it!

Secondly, a different Jo ;) wanted photo's taken of her little boy who was THE most well mannered, lovely little boy ever. He was a real pleasure to photograph, full of beans and chatty. He had fabulous taste in football teams too ;)

Nic came with her Mum, Brother, Aunt & Cousin for a fun family shoot which was a gift for their grandparents. We had loads of fun and they were well up for everything we suggested to them, well done for effort, it was fab!

Suzie brough her little man along to be photographed and he was a right little character, full of smiles and mischief, just how little boys should be! His photoshoot is bursting with beaming cheeky grins and he was such a pleasure to photograph.

Anthony wanted new head/should shots for his acting portfolio, he has been on TV for the likes of Shameless & Peter Kay's 'Britain's Got The Pop Factor'. Keep your eyes out for him!

Suzie came with her family to have a photoshoot, it was loads of fun, from jumping, spinning, tickling, hopping, fairy princess outfits, fairy wings and spinny chairs it was all go-go-go!

The photo's have come out brilliantly and like so many other shoots I couldn't pick just one so again I have picked a montage.

Next we have Angie's gorgeous Grandaughter who was a right little smiler who loved the fairy wings and wand props (girl after my own heart). Nanny and Grandad were suprised when she began sitting up all by herself for the first time during her photoshoot, she was keeping it secret so we could capture the moment I think!

This photoshoot was bought for Simone and Marc as a wedding present from Simone's colleagues. They brought along their little girl who was hysterical and reminded me of a female version of my own little boy. She told me Santa is bringing her the softest, fluffiest pinkest slippers in the world, bringing Daddy a fishing rod (and some fish) and Mummy a jumper!

I hope you get your slippers Alyse!

Kerry brought her two daughters Emily & Alice. Emily was a very cool 9 yr old with fab music taste and Alice was giggly and kept boinging around and sitting like a frog! Really loved this shoot as they reminded me of my Sis and me at their age (same age gap)

I've known Jennie for yearrrrs, we worked together years ago when her girls were the same age as my little boy and now look at them! Lainey and Amber are SUCH tomboys! We had slow mo' penalties, headers, dirty dives and countless other football moves and again they had good taste in their football strip ;)

Phew, nearly there!

I photographed this gorgeous family when Gracie was 6 weeks old, she's now 4 months old and look at her! Isn't she gorgeous? They're booked in on the Newborn Package so I shall be seeing them again in February when Gracie is 8 months old and I cannot wait!

Lastly and by no means leastly.

Smewch is supporting Breast Cancer Campaign throughout November by offering 10% of my profits to this amazing charity. Any orders placed or any bookings made will be totalled at the end of the month and 10% donated.

I often do boudoir sittings and encourage woman to embrace their curves and increase their confidence. I wanted to link the two together as many women who have had breast cancer feel they've lost some of their femininity, especially if they've had a mastectomy. As Gok would say, ladies embrace your lucious curves and celebrate your fabness!

Monthly Update!

Every month I swear I'm going to blog more and every month I fail. Ooops! Sorry.

Yet again it's a meaty one.... Will I EVER learn?

Firstly, is my beautiful Sister. She's expecting her first baby 2 days before Christmas, it's a girl and anyone that knows me will know how totally, utterly excited I am about her arrival! I know I'm including a family set but this is also my personal blog aswell as my professional blog so why not muddle them a little?!!

This next little cutie came with her Mum, Nan & Auntie. She was absolutely adorable, totally made me broody and had the biggest beautiful eyes ever, I also got the chance to have fun with my prop box! Here's just a few of my faves from this session

Next we have Charlie. I worked with her Mum many years ago and was contacted by her to photograph her little girl. When I worked with Kirsty this gorgeous girl was only 1 and now look at her? Full of life and mischief, love it

I went from the above session straight onto this session. The Jones were another gorgeous family to photograph, loads of fun and Annalisse jumped straight into it, dancing, posing and loving it! Here are a few of my faves from this gorgeous session.

I photographed this little cutie just a couple of weekends ago and even though he wasn't too pleased with having to be seperated from Daddy to be photographed I managed to get some gorgeous shots of him. We kept Daddy close by and Mummy helped make him giggle and smile along with Jen my fabulous assistant whilst I snapped at every opportunity he gave us of that melting smile and sparkly eyes!

I was contacted last minute by Donna who I photographed whilst pregnant as she had given birth to a beautiful baby boy. He was a tiny 5lb 9oz when born (same size as my own Son) and wanted him photographed at 2 and a half weeks old with my Newborn Package.

Oliver was absolutely stunning, tiny, perfect and beautiful! I loved this photoshoot, the memories came flooding back from when Harrison was that small and I hope you like the photo's Donna.

Hello Blog

It's been a while, hasn't it?

It's been pretty manic the past month or so, but I've had a weekend off and have caught up with lots of things - the blog being probably one of the last things on my 'to-do' list.

As it's been so long I shall do one larger blog covering a few of the shoots I've done over the past 4 weeks or however long it's been!

Firstly we had

Kelly - Boudoir Photoshoot

Kel was fab to photograph, naturally gorgeous and although she was quite nervous at the beginning she soon got the hang of it. We got a wholllle load of gorgeous images of her but these are 2 of my favourite.

Smewch can airbrush all images giving that magazine finish to all your glamour photo's without spending a fortune!

Then

Karen & Family

Karen initially came to have her Son & Daughter photographed but ended up getting on some pics herself near the end of their photoshoot. They came out brilliantly and not only was it such a fun shoot her kids were adorable... I was in love with the outfit she got for her boy!

Now...

Donna - Maternity

Donna has one of the neatest bumps I've ever seen, only ONE stretchmark and was glowing. She came with her Mum & little Bro' who was so excited about having a nephew (yes, it's a boy!)

Donna, I so hope you come back for baby shots done of your little man as you were such fun to photograph!

Next was....

Phil & Woof's! - Pet Photoshoot

I'd never been round greyhounds before and until this photoshoot I always imagined them to be lively, jumpy and skitty things. I couldn't of been more wrong. They were adoooorable and so soft and gentle!

Despite the fact they refused to be photographed together we managed to get some nice photo's of them. These were a present for Phil's Sister for her Birthday. I hope she liked them Phil x

Wilkinson Family - Newborn Package - Shoot 1

Lyndsey, Anthony & Gracie joined me for her first photoshoot out of 4 she will have with me here at Smewch until the age of 1.

Gracie was just 6 weeks old but sooo alert, nosey and completely, utterly gorgeous!

Sometimes I meet new customers and click with them and I just loved how relaxed fun Lyndsey & Anthony were. They were up for trying lots of my ideas out and it really paid off.

I have so, so many favourites from this shoot but here are a few of them.

Whilst on my week off my Son decided he wanted to finally try on the magician dressing up outfit he got for his birthday (back in January) - now for those of you that don't know my hubs is a close up magician. Harrison wanted to go and 'play' in Mummy's studio (i.e. with my prop box) so off we went.

Corporate Photography - O2 It's Your Community

I was asked to go along to a local Community Centre here in Runcorn and photograph employees from O2 helping clear the overgrown gardens as part of O2's 'It's Your Community' scheme.

In various parts of the UK, O2 have been awarding cash grants to groups who come to them with a good idea for a community project. This time it was all hands on and lots of digging!

The Palacefields Estate contains over 650 homes. Their local community centre is being looked after by the Four Estates Ltd. Four Estates are a volunteer led community development company. Everyone is working very hard to put the centre at the heart of the community. Everyone is trying to ensure that they centre is a place for people to come together, join in all sorts of activities and gain access to a host of facilities. The centre already run activities ranging from martial arts and lunch clubs, to youth clubs and bingo - all ages are provisioned for.

But as a charity all their funding must be bid for and as priorities go – people are the most important thing. With all funding going into the activities, little to none is ever left over to look after the centre itself. This is where a group of O2 volunteers stepped in to offer their help via It's Your Community.

It actually stayed sunny the whole hour I was there and was lovely and warm. Although the O2 team were a bit too warm with all the digging, raking & pruning. The hard worked paid off though and already by lunch time the transformation was amazing!

Well done to you all, you certainly deserved a cold drink (alcoholic?!) and a nice bath to ease those aching muscles. Hope you're all feeling ok today!

Family Portrait - Alison & Abbie (Mum & Daughter)

Alison and Abbie wanted a fun and lively Mum & Daughter shoot and that's exactly what we had! I enjoyed this shoot so much and we had a good giggle and the girls got a good workout what with jumping around, bounching around on the spacehopper and a whole load of other moves - hope you weren't too exhausted after your shoot girls!

Corporate Photography - Work Experience

I was asked to photograph a group of disabled students from a local school doing their Work Experience at O2 Preston Brook. O2 has supported this local school the last 3 years and giving them opportunity to experience life within O2. This is only possible due to the amount of staff who volunteer every year to help out and mentor these students. The staff from the school and also the employees within O2 providing such amazing enthusiasm and support as the students go round and meet new faces.

There were 4 main organisers this year who helped make this possible, they were Simone from HR, Sandra who started this whole scheme and initially made this possible, Philippa (both from Customer Services) and Andy - Trainer from Learning & Development. The hard work they put in and all the planning and organising with the school make this the success it was.

It was SUCH a fun couple of days. The students went from being shy and introvert to totally the opposite. It was absolutely fantastic to be part of.

O2 gave each student at the end of their Work Experience a new phone and a pay as you go sim card - they were delighted with them as you can see!

We then had a mini awards ceremony and handed out ceritifcates and gifts - Thank you to Nick Fogarty who presented this. As you can see I think he was loving the camera (along with Andy) a little TOO much!

Thank you all for an amazing time, for allowing me to capture it all and here's to another successful year in 2010! Let's get organising now eh!!

Family Portrait - All The Girls

I have to say, this was one of my most favourite shoots in ages, that's not to say my other sittings weren't fun!

However, this was one of my faves as the girls instantly started performing, their little characters came out immediately and the whole girly madness, frills, pinkness and cuteness of it all just made me melt!!

I hope you all had as much fun as I did. I think it really shows in your photo's what a fab time the girls had. One of my faves is the tiger 'rarrrrr' one (for 2 reasons, the cuteness and the fact that she can't quite see through the eyes, yet she's still giving her loudest 'rarrrrr' lol)

The last 2 weeks has been quite busy, last week I photographed a group of Special Needs students from Chesnut Lodge School, Widnes on their work experience at O2. It was an amazing couple of days spent with them and I have soooo many pictures from it that I shall be working through and editing this weekend (no rest for the wicked eh!) - I shall upload some of my faves as soon as I get round to it.

On a personal note we've also been setting up my Hubby's business of www.bobcatmagic.com - He's been a Close Up Card Magician for years and years and worked the clubs etc before getting married and having children came along. So yep, it's been a mad week, my boyo has finished preschool for the Summer hols today, so now its 6 weeks of finding something to stimulate his overactive imagination and use up some of his endless energy. any suggestions gratefully received!!

Family Portrait - The Edward's Boys

This was a looooovely shoot to do and was purchased as a gift voucher for Zak's Dad on Father's Day.

Fran and Zak we're great fun to photograph. Zak was totally loving the camera and performing, what a little dude he was! First he wore his LFC kit and showed me some of his fancy footwork with his football. It gave me loads of opportunity to snap away to my hearts content but this photo below just makes me laugh so much.

Fran then joined him for some Daddy & boy shots which just made me melt. I'm so happy with how they turned out and hope the Edwards Family are too.

Family Portrait - Cheryl, Peter, Carol & Puppy Alfie

I've known Cheryl for years and was honoured when she asked me to photograph her and her Hubby Peter, with their new pup Alfie and her Mum Carol.

It was a lovely shoot; Alfie was a little charmer and Jen (my gorgeous assistant) and me totally fell in love with him and wanted to keep him. For a pup he was so well behaved!
Alfie had an 'Alfie-Trait' of lying down and sticking his bum in the air so I really wanted to capture this for them. I love finding out little traits about my clients so I can really try and capture them being their selves. It's like when kids bring in an old tatty worn-out teddy, most photographers would think it spoil a photo where I believe it brings the picture to life and gives it a memory that you'll treasure forever.
I've included my faves from their photoshoot for you all to see. Cheryl, I hope you all like them. Thank you again for asking me to photograph you all. I know how important these photo's are to you all

Long Time No Blog...

Wheww it's been a wee while hasn't it?

I've been so busy with work, family, house, birthdays, anniversarys (mine and Hubs 6th wedding anniversary!) holidays and all the normal day-to-day life stuff!

I've done a few shoots since then so I'm just going to do one bigger blog with snippets from each... you ready?!

Firstly I photographed Beth who had received her sitting as a gift from family. She was absolutely gorgeous, really shy at first but soon got into it. I love some of the pics I captured of her during the sitting. Here are some of my favourites.

Then Vicki, her 2 children and her partner joined me for a fun filled shoot. Her kids were totally adorable and extremely photogenic.... was a lovely photoshoot to work on and edit.

I also did a few personal shoots over the last couple of weeks. I finally managed to get my Sister in front of the camera with my Mum and my Son, Harrison. I was such fun to do and we had such a giggle. Here are some of my fave pics, they'll soon be taking pride of place in my hallway. It can be quite strange photographing relatives as sometimes that can make you more nervous (well it does me) but anyways they turned out gorgeous, heres a few of my faves. On an off topic doesn't my Mum look lush and nowhere near her age of 55, good Genes! ;)

Then my next customer was Louise, her daughter and her Sister. They were so much fun and we didn't stop laughing. They were all mad as anything but extremely fun and energetic which we *love*

Lastly again a personal photoshoot of my gorgous Neice who has been up visiting us this past week. She went home yesterday and boyo is already missing her and wanting his Cousin Becky back.... Infact, so do I! She's just finished her GCSE's and is now on Summer Hols, jammy thing!

Family Portrait - Philippa & Family

This was a lovely shoot to do as it was bought with the intention of giving the photo to Pip's Mum who has just turned 80 years old.

They had given her the voucher and letter on the day of her birthday and then came for the photoshoot last weekend, the 24th May.

I've known Philippa for a few years now as she works in O2 and she is incredibly funny and witty. I adore her sense of humour.

Her Son was also a little character and had me laughing out loud throughout the photoshoot.

Pip's Daughter was absolutely beautiful and editing these photo's was a complete joy as she already had flawless skin and perfect teeth!

I hope your Mum (and Nan) loves her photo of you all and thank you for asking me to photograph your gorgeous family Philippa, it was an absolute pleasure.

Smewch's First Stall

On Thursday 14th May we held our first Smewch Photography stall at the O2 Call Centre in Preston Brook and it was a raging success!

It was fab meeting so many new people and showing them my photography and products that I offer and we even held a competition to win a free photoshoot!

We had 124 entrants and the lucky winner was chosen by my Son, Harrison yesterday (15th May 2009) - the lucky winner of the shoot was Tina Potter. I rang Tina yesterday and she was delighted to have won. Congratulations :) You can see my boy picking the winner here

Here are some photo's of the stall and you'll also see a few of the items I offer to all my customer's after their photoshoot - these includes canvases, framed prints, glossy coffee table books, CD's, etc

Family Portrait - Mel & Eddie Jnr

Mel & Eddie Jnr joined me on Sunday for a lovely family photoshoot. This was given to them as a Christmas present in the form of a gift voucher.

Eddie was just adorable and so pleasant with the cheekiest smile ever! He also seemed quite taken with my new prop (the white chair) and thoroughly enjoyed climbing on top of it... Monkey! He certainly kept us on our toes lol.

These are some of my favourites images taken during the photoshoot - the top one is a 9 image montage which I make up for everyone who comes to one of my sittings so people can see a whole selection of their images in 1 complete print. I love these as they really help capture and show off the fun of the session.

Family Portrait - The Cashmans

Mark, Lisa, Hannah and Matthew joined me for a family photoshoot.

I loved the crisp whiteness of the shirts that they chose and baby Matthew (19month old) was just delicious and so good!
He absolutely adores his big sister 'Nana' as he calls her and was freely handing out hugs and kisses to them all.

Boudoir Photoshoot

This stunningly beautiful couple came in for a Boudoir session and oh my life it was such fun!

We'd spoken before the shoot and the brief was similar photo's to the type you see in magazines for Armani and D&G etc. Very up close and personal.

Besides the hot pink underwear and the amazing figures they were such a good laugh and held some very difficult poses (all in the name of art eh!). She wore a stunning pair of hot pink french knickers and he wore hot pink Diesel boxers. I love a man with confidence to pull off pink!

In 'other' news this week; Hubby's back has gone meaning he's limping and grunting his way round the house, my boyo has a cold and a cough and I'm the healthiest one amongst us!

I've changed the price section of the site a little, just to make it a bit more easier to read (I hope so anyway, your opinions?) and I've also updated the client area as the list was getting way too long. If you had a photoshoot in 2008 you'll find yourselves under the archived section... neatly put away but never forgotten ;)

Lynn Doyle - Portrait Session

Lynn booked in for her two daughters, Lauren and Danielle. They are both dancers and so were great fun to photograph and get them in fun positions.

They came armed with bags of props and I have to say, their Mum was fab at spotting the kind of things I use in my prop boxes!

New Light Set Up - Jen, Portrait Photoshoot

Ok so, not entirely a photoshoot but I purchased some additional lighting which needed setting up, plus with my newly learnt skills in airbrushing I needed to put it all to the test. My gorgeous assistant (Jen) was up for it so we went for full out glamour & fun!

I do love this girl :)

My Son; Harrison, also got in on the act! There's no show without punch here, I tell ya!

I've had a really busy week as had a week off with my Hubby and ventured out each day to the beach, the zoo, swimming, the park etc etc.

Had loads of fun but 'work' starts again on Sunday!

I've also been interviewed this week for Cosmopolitan/Company magazine about my photography and also a local media company so keep your eyes peeled for Smewch hitting the headlines (I hope!)

It was a whole new experience but very fun as both my interviewers were really lovely. If either of you are reading this, thank you for making it such an enjoyable experience (for my first time!)

Sophie - Portrait Photoshoot

Sophie was given this photoshoot as a birthday present in the form of a gift voucher. It was the first shoot she'd ever had and was a little nervous but she shouldn't of been as she looks absolutely beautiful!

Her little Sister, Ella also joined in on a few photo's but was more interested in the balloons than having her photo taken - Who can blame her eh!

Meet the Robinsons - Family Portrait

I know Sara from a forum I have been a member of for years but we'd never met. It was lovely to finally meet, and not only that; she and her Husband Terry have a wicked sense of humour that I thoroughly enjoyed!

Terry is a talented musical genuis and has his own site - Purple Rhapsody check him out and download some of his tunes!

Sara is a fab budding photographer with very similar tastes to me, ranging from bracelets, to camera gadgets & cups of tea! A girl after my own heart ;)

It was a pleasure meeting two very lovely (and madly in love) people and I hope to repeat it (without the camera snapping away at them constantly) at some point in the future!

The Findlows - Family Portrait

The Findlows consist of Dad; James, Mum; Becky & beautiful baby Ceris. They also brought along their lovely family dog Spanner, who was 16 years old, had 3 legs and was the most well behaved dog I've ever had in the studio.

Ceris made me melt immediately, she is 8 months old and full of beaming smiles. Enough to send a girl broody again!

Busy doing....

Not exactly nothing but not exactly busy today. Infact it feels like a lazy Sunday kinda day....

Boyo (that's my pet name for Harrison) is at his Nanny's this afternoon and she has asked if he can stay over tonight as they've not had him over for a wee while. It feels rather odd when he's not here but it means Andy & I get to catch up on so many things instead of doing it all once he's in bed.

I have finally moved my office equipment from the kitchen dining table into my own very compact but perfectly formed office den which was once our kitchen cubby...As I said, it's small but just nice and cosey and big enough for me! It also means we get our dining table back, hooorah!! I just need to decorate it with framed pictures now and then it'll be poifect.

Andy's shipment from Bangkok arrived yesterday for his new marketed magic trick so he's busy sorting all that out as I type. I have to also get a customers order ready today so she can collect tomorrow. All go, but in a very chilled way!!

I also need to get my batteries charged, camera lens and sensors cleaned and memory cards formatted all ready for tomorrow shoots.

I have some exciting prospects lined up but I'm keeping schtum about them on here until they materialise! Watch this space....

Leanne Durr - Portfolio Shoot

This lovely lady contacted me back in January saying she wanted a modelling portfolio. We booked her in and her photoshoot was last Sunday the 22nd March.

She was a beautiful girl, full of life and energy and certainly had a dress style that oozed catwalk. Some of her photo's really have a look of Claudia Schiffer meets Katie White out of the Ting Tings!

You can't go far wrong looking like that now, can you?

My First Blog...

Oooh the excitement! You're probably not the slightest bit excited but I hope you're a teeny bit intrigued about Smewch and that's probably why you've stumbled onto my blog.

Smewch Photography was created last year in 2008 after I finished an Open University course in photography. I'd always had a passion for taking photographs but something in me clicked and I decided 2008 was the year I made my dream a reality!

Since then I've not looked back. I have met some lovely, lovely people who have allowed me to share a teeny snippet of their lives and their memories and I'm also pretty busy all the time now!

I have a 3 year old called Harrison who adores coming into my studio, he is a model in the making and yes; I am biased!! His favourite prop is the 'spinny egg chair' and the fairy wings - hmmmm!

I also have an amazing hubby; Andy who is also a close up card magician (and very good he is too!) He doesn't do gigs anymore but has started producing his own marketed tricks which is all very exciting! More updates on that coming soon once we get his website up and running.

I think I've rambled on enough about me, time for a shoot post next!
